Belconnen bathroom gets a geometric overhaul

Andy and Bec approached us with a tired, worn out bathroom in their Belconnen townhouse. The rooms felt dates, didn’t use space well and didn’t feel bright or welcoming.

We worked with them to design a contemporary wet room that made the most of limited space and added a huge skylight for natural light and an increased sense of space. This work included replacing an old, waterlogged skylight with a large modern, automated skylight (featuring double glazed glass and a solar powered sun shade for when those hot hot summer days).

The modern geometric feature tiles, large vanity and increased storage (with both recessed ledges and a huge 900mm shaving cabinet) turned a room with a small footprint into one that feels large on design, light and luxury. The hexagonal tiles presented their own challenge for install, but as long as we took regular breaks the headaches weren’t too bad ;).

What were the standout features?

We worked with Andy and Bec to extend the striking feature tile to the separate toilet and laundry, as well as the kitchen backsplash. This stunning tile ties the spaces of the house together and creates a real sense of flow between the different areas of the home.

The addition of the huge triple paneled shaving cabinet, under vanity storage and two hidden slide cupboards completes the storage transformation of this small (but now amazingly functional) bathroom.
